The Flower Lab recently had the honor to help sponsor the first annual Asian Bridal Fair at the San Gabriel Hilton in November, 2008. We had the great opportunity to work with Wildflower Linen to present gorgeous tables and floral-linen dresses in the ballroom foyer. We also helped with the florals of Bella Destinee’s booth by presenting a garden birdcage reception centerpiece with matching peony and rose bouquet. It was a great first Asian Bridal Fair with tons of delicious food, fashion, and of course floral decor! Check out some of the flowers we made for the show and our booth:

Carol and Chang had a lovely lavender and purple wedding at The Victorian, a romantic seaside house on Main Street in the heart of Santa Monica. We used purple hydrangea, ‘cool water’ roses, lavender carnations, light green cymbidium orchids and hypericum berry, and lavender china mums and sweet peas.
I had a lot of fun working with the happy couple – they were always laughing and joking around!
I really enjoy doing weddings at The Westlake Village Inn. Not only is it a beautiful location, but the staff there make sure everything runs as smoothly as possible. The drive up to Westlake Village from Santa Monica is especially scenic. I usually take the Pacific Coast Highway north to Malibu Canyon Road and then it’s a few exits on the 101 before hitting Westlake Village. It always amazes me how one minute I’m passing deep blue ocean and surfers on my left and then 10 minutes later I’m winding uphill through hills and canyons and ranches. Once in Calabassas, I imagine I’m in Tuscany with the golden hills and tall pointy cypress trees.
Here are some pictures of a fall wedding at the Westlake Village Inn. The ceremony was held in the Tuscan Gardens and the reception in the Wine Cellar. The Wine Cellar is a great intimate location for a smaller wedding complete with rattan chairs, quacking ducks, and a lakeside view.
